Wookie vs. Chandler

Chandler is an animal lover, he loves cats and dogs equally. He even does the voiceover portion of what the animals are thinking. It is a riot to watch him with Buzz Buzz and Peakaboo (his cat and dog) as well as when he gets going with Wookie.

Wookie is the baby, I made him that way. Long snuggles on the couch, bed, chair, you name it, he is up for some loving at any point and time of the day. He has his issues. . . he is not the happiest cat when my parents come over or when small, screeching children are in the house. He can handle dogs coming to visit as long as he is the biggest animal there and they understand that he gets to choose his spot with mama.

I made the dire mistake of rough housing with him when he was little. Something that didn’t really become a problem until he was bigger and didn’t understand the difference between playing and hurting. I also made the mistake of not traveling a lot when he was little thus requiring friends to come by to visit and check on him when I do travel.

But Wookie and Chandler together? They argue, they debate current affairs and Chandler has learned that this little man loves to snuggle up on your chest and sometimes might even drool while laying there.

Often times I hear them talking to each other and I laugh. Then I hear Chandler telling him no and the talk escalates to argument. He rubs Wook’s belly and well, Wook isn’t a fan of that all of the time. He has left his mark on Chandler several times and all I can say is, “Well, he was telling you to back off.”

Today was one of those days where I would venture to say the fight was a draw. While Chandler discussed in great length that there is no biting or scratching, Wookie used his back claws to express his frustration with the situation. He also lets it be known that even if he does scratch, he has no issues of crawling back up on Chandler and curling up to get some much needed love.

The fun part will be when we introduce Wookie to Buzz Buzz. I have a feeling I may need some Valium  when the time comes. We have been explaining to both cats that they will have a brother but I have a feeling they are ignoring us.

Yet another failure as a cat mama, I never socialized my little man with other cats. The fur will be flying around here along with some tears.

What you see is what you get; I am a Nashville girl who is single, again. I use the blog to get my inner, tortured, wanna be writer angst out. One day I just may write a book. I have been stumbling through life for 43 years now, I love to cook, read and figure out more embarrassing ways I can either harm myself (thank you hula hoop of 2010 and the case of the thrown back) or just prove how inept I am at household chores and dieting. The people you read about on here are real but most have had their names changed to protect the innocent and not so innocent. And I really should make a list of them so I can remember! Enjoy, read, mock, laugh and comment, it really isn't difficult. Plus, I would prefer reading comments from real people as opposed to the weird spam comments I keep getting. Plus, I will always find the hardest path to follow and take that one, why would anyone want to take the easy way?!

  1. It will be ok. I cried for 3 days when we brought Teddy home because I thought Shadow and Teddy would hate each other. Teddy loves Shadow, Shadow tolerates Teddy. It will all work out.

What I really want to know, has Wookie bit Todd on the nose yet?
